Our partner company in the America, AUSTRALIAN WINDERS USA, attends the Hydrovision conference in Charlotte, North Carolina during July.

‘The show was a great success for the team’. Both Pete Hall and Tony O’Brien of Australian Winders USA & Australian Winders respectively, are extremely happy with the interest shown by both the large multinational and the smaller national companies, in our joint capabilities.  Company delegates and managers of businesses worldwide were in attendance and showed great interest in not only our unique logo, AustWindersRGB_WEB.jpg  but also of the joint services we can provide.

JUNE 2010

An Australian Winders crew were contracted to assist our customer to perform a rewedge on a 27mw Toshiba turbine generator stator at Collie, in the south west of Western Australia. It was a tight fit for some, during the difficult work of de-laminating over 1000 wedges and fitting newly manufactured wedges. The project was a great success with our customer expressing their thanks for our hard work and perseverance.

APRIL 2010

Australian Winders were able to provide a new customer with 'next day response' over the Easter weekend for their winding repairs. 2 specifically trained crew members were required to assist in an urgent repair on site at Olympic Dam, South Australia. They were able to get the job finished within 2 days of the first phone call inquiry. The end user and our customer were extremely happy with the reponse, the work our winders performed and also to discover that AW have the trained personnel in Australia.

JANUARY 2010

January 27th was Australian Winders second ‘annual’ golf and wine day. Once again the golf  was held at The Vines Golf and Country club, whilst the ladies visited Carrilley Estate, Canefire Distillary, Kosovich Winery and ended up at Lamonts. The ladies had such a good time they where late getting back throwing the schedule way out of whack!!

A good turn out at golf, on a hot day. The day lasted right through to the wee hours of Sunday morning, with mostly the same old winding stories told again!! Thanks to all for making it great day!

DECEMBER 2009

Tony O’Brien, Director of Australian Winders travelled to Las Vegas as guest of Pete Hall, Managing Director of our partner company in the US, Australian Winders USA.

The reason was, to attend the International Power Gen Expo and talk to potential clients regarding their generator rewinds.  It was the first Power Gen Expo visit, with a lot of positive feedback regarding the services we can supply together. A few busy days but well worth it. ‘watch this space’

DECEMBER 2009

3 young winders and 1 winding specialist assisted our customer to repair and rewedge a ball mill at Sossego minesite in the jungles of Brazil. Teaming with other contractors, they were able to perform the repair efficiently and successfully , just making me on Christmas Eve. A tough project for all, but all are better for the experience.

NOVEMBER 2009

Four team members travelled to the north of Sweden, 100 klms above the Artic Circle, to assist in the installation of 2 x AG mills. The largest open cut copper mine in Europe is expanding and Australian Winders are happy to have played a part in helping our customer achieve success.

Supervised by Mr Juergen Groth, we managed to help turn around the installation from being delayed to back on time. Special thanks to our Swedish assistants, Stefan and Marcus

July 2009

11 team members arrived home early August from a large Sag mill rewind in Chile. The mill is approximately 17m in diameter and was the first 'insitu' rewind of its type.

The project was completed with very good test results and 6 days ahead of schedule. There was a cheer when the mill turned again for the first time and the end user was extremely happy.

The experience from the Australian Winders crew stood out and was noted by our customer.
